Set Up Discord Alerts

The X-Ray bot sends the bets that match your filters to your own Discord channel, as soon as they appear on Bet Hero.

Before you start

You need three things:

1. An active Starter, Plus or Pro subscription. The Free plan doesn't include alerts.
2. Your Discord connected to Bet Hero. See Connect Your Discord.
3. A saved filter for each bet type you want alerts for. On the +EV, Arbitrage or Dropping Odds page, open Manage Filters, click New Filter, give it a name and click Create. Choose Your Filters explains each setting.

Step 1: Create a server for yourself

The bot only sends alerts to a channel that nobody else can see, so the easiest setup is a Discord server with just you in it.

In Discord, click + (Add a Server) at the bottom of your server list, then Create My Own. If you need help, see Discord's guide.

Step 2: Add the X-Ray bot

1. Open this invite link.
2. Under Add to server, pick the server you just created.
3. Click Continue. Leave all three permissions ticked: View Channels, Send Messages and Embed Links. The bot needs every one of them to post alerts.
4. Click Authorize.

The bot now shows up in your server's member list.

Step 3: Create a channel

Click + next to Text Channels and give the channel a name, like ev-bets.

One channel can get every bet type, but one channel per bet type is easier to follow.

Other people in your server?

The bot won't post in a channel that anyone else can see. Turn on Private Channel when you create it, then add the bot: open Edit Channel, go to Permissions, click Add members or roles and pick the X-Ray bot. Check that it's allowed to View Channel, Send Messages and Embed Links.

Step 4: Turn on alerts with /enable

1. In the channel, type /enable and pick the command from the list.
2. For bet_type, choose +EV, Arbitrage, Dropping Odds or Middles. Dropping Odds and Middles alerts are part of Pro.
3. For bet_filter, choose one of your saved filters.
4. Press Enter.

The bot replies with the name of the filter it's using (only you can see the reply). Bets start arriving as soon as one matches the filter.

For another bet type, run /enable again, in the same channel or a new one.

tip

If you change a filter on the dashboard later, your alerts follow the change right away. You don't need to run /enable again.

How many filters you can use

Plan	Filters per bet type	Bet types

Pro	Up to 5	+EV, Arbitrage, Dropping Odds and Middles

On Starter, bets above 4% EV or 4% arbitrage profit are locked on the website and in alerts alike.

Starter and Plus: you can have one +EV filter and one Arbitrage filter on at the same time. Running /enable with a different filter of the same type swaps it, and the bot tells you which filter it replaced.

Pro: run /enable again with another filter to add it. In the same channel, both filters send to that channel. In a different channel, the new filter gets its own feed there. A bet that matches filters in two channels is sent to both, but a channel gets each bet only once, however many of its filters match.

Some older channels get every filter of a bet type at once. In one of those, your next /enable for that type replaces this setting with the filter you pick, and the bot's reply says so.

Stop alerts with /disable

In the channel, run /disable and choose the bet type. Leave bet_filter empty to stop every filter of that type in the channel, or pick one filter to stop just that one.

Troubleshooting

The bot says	What to do
You must link your Discord account first	Connect your Discord to Bet Hero.
You must have an active subscription	Check your plan on the Subscription page.
You must be in the Bet Hero server	Click Sync roles in the Discord section of Settings > Account to rejoin.
You must be the only one in this channel	Make the channel private (see Step 3), or use a server with just you in it.
You have no +EV filter yet	Create a filter of that bet type on the dashboard first.
You must have a Pro subscription to use Dropping Odds	Dropping Odds alerts are part of Pro.
Bot stopped	The message says why. Once you fix it, alerts start again by themselves.
Alerts paused in this channel	You have more filters than your plan allows, for example after moving from Pro to Plus. Upgrade to Pro, or run /disable in that channel to remove the extra filter.
Alerts stopped in this channel. The filter they used no longer exists	The filter was deleted on the dashboard. Run /enable and pick another one.

The filter list is empty. Make sure you have a saved filter of the bet type you picked. If you do, press Ctrl+R (Cmd+R on a Mac) or restart Discord.

/enable worked, but no bets are arriving. First check that the bot is allowed to post in the channel. This is the most common problem, and the bot can't warn you about it, because it can't post there.

1. Hover over the channel and click the gear icon (Edit Channel).
2. Go to Permissions and pick the X-Ray bot, or add it with Add members or roles.
3. Make sure View Channel, Send Messages and Embed Links are allowed (green check), then save.

If the permissions are right, open the same page on the dashboard with the same filter applied. If it shows no bets either, the filter is stricter than the current market. Loosen it on the dashboard and your alerts update right away.
