Choose Your Filters

When using Bet Hero, understanding the filters available to you is an essential part of maximizing your betting strategy. Let's explore these filters and how we recommend utilizing them for optimal results.

Tip

For beginners, our strong recommendation is to stick with the default filters. This will help you get accustomed to the software and the betting process without unnecessary complexity. The default settings are optimized to provide a balanced approach to risk and reward based on general betting strategies.

Available Filters for +EV bets

+EV Filters
  • EV (Expected Value): This filter allows you to select bets based on their expected value. The EV represents the average amount you can anticipate to win or lose per bet based on the probabilities and payouts.

  • Market Vig (Vigorish): This filter lets you control the vig, or commission, taken by the market. Lower market vig is preferable because it indicates a more certain market with more accurate odds.

  • Winning Probability: This filter sets a threshold for the probability of a bet winning. If you are highly risk-averse, consider adjusting the winning probability filter to a minimum of 30% to mitigate short-term losses. However, it's important to note that doing so may lead you to miss out on opportunities for significant long-term profits, especially with high EV bets that might have lower winning probabilities but offer substantial potential returns over time.

  • Wager %: This filter helps you decide what percentage of your bankroll you are willing to wager on a particular bet.

Available Filters for Surebets

Surebet Filters
  • Odds Range: Allows you to set minimum and maximum odds. Limiting the odds range can help you avoid situations where you might have to place a very high percentage of the total bet on one side. By managing the odds range, you can make the bet distribution more even across different sides, which helps in reducing potential risks associated with imbalanced betting situations.

  • Profit %: Helps you identify surebets that meet a desired minimum profit threshold.
